SS is getting pretty popular. And the servers are full most of the evening time in the US.
Can we set a limit on how many rounds someone can sit out? And the server bump them automatically?
If it is possible, how many rounds would be a good number?

Hey FlygURL.
MAGGOTBRAIN already made a rule for this.
He said that if the server is full then somebody can sit out for 10 minutes...if he/she sits out longer they get kicked.

I dont think I started it...Something Tim sent me a while back is where i got it from...As Fly mentioned ,an in game program that booted for spec-ing would be real nice...3 rounds and thats it...I think back in the day, R6 had an option for disabling it altogether...wouldnt mind that as well...Hopefully someone in the know (TwiLight) or Tim will chime in here and let us know if it exists or could be made to....Im all for it as I do forget and let ppl spec too long. Im also guessing that now that the holiday breaks are over, the server will be a little less jammed.

i agree there should be a limit, but three rounds can go pretty darn fast....ten minutes seems fair to me, girls take longer to go to the bathroom...  |

Hmm I can understand the most of you all, but as KQ already said, 3 rounds can be pretty fast, sometimes we all die at spawn or we aren't getting pretty far on a map... (hard maps usually lol) But, on the other hand, 10 minutes, I don't think that anyone of us is looking at his watch when somebody goes on spec...? I'm honest, I forgot sometimes, I think we all do, we're talking' to other gamers and you forget about time...
A good option would be an auto-kick after 10 min, so that admins don't need to guess how long a player has been on spec.. But what my question is...some players of SS, like to be just a round or 2 on spec, 'cause they are to tired, or just needed a break. Or as Mag says all the time "It's time to lay a brown one" <=== LMAO , sometimes it could take longer then 10 min ROFL... Or we just need to do some things that takes more then 10 min, like me for example, when I put my daughter into bed, it can take longer then 10 min, as you know how kids are, many many goodnight-kisses, and hugs, and then she needs to drink, or she want's to hear a little story, ...you know how kids are That means when we come back, we got kicked out..
What would we do then? Change the options for SS-members/admins? Or the same rule, even if the room is full and you've already had 2 hours of great company, and when you come back at your pc, the only thing you can see is that you've been kicked out...Not so great either...if you can imagine that it could take 1 hour to get back in, and your great company is already gone?
Don't know how we could turn that option on our servers, still keeping it fairplay, without hurting anybody's feelings. It's the same as the Rambo-rule, or the JOHNDOE-rule, they all ignore us until they get the last warning of kick-time |
